A Good Walk Spoiled? Not Entirely.

Wherever in the world you’re playing will, to some extent, determine who are your playing partners. Leaving human beings to one side for the moment, you may find yourself among foxes, deer, turtles, woodchucks, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, elk, beavers, trout, bass, hawks, blue heron, eagles, geese, ducks, robins, blue jays, toads, armadillos, turkeys, otters, gophers, lizards, butterflies, dogs, bobcats, coyotes, panthers, snakes and alligators. And that’s just some of the wildlife that like to hang out at golf courses too.

In Africa, there are zebra, giraffes, gazelle and a host of other animals. While down-under, kangaroos and koala bears frequently look on. There are the seals on the rocks at Pebble Beach and you might be lucky and catch the occasional glimpse of a whale.

At several courses in the UK, dogs are not only permitted but are actually encouraged. What could be better than a round alone with man’s best friend and an extra pair of eyes and keen nose to find your ball?

The pleasures of golf are within and around, enjoy.
