Hurricane Matthew’s path of destruction has moved through the Caribbean and is expected to reach Florida early Friday morning, according to The Weather Channel, outer rain bands have already reached the state.

The Sun-Sentinel, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is reporting, “about 150,000 people were ordered to evacuate in Palm Beach County Wednesday night, as the storm’s projected course shifted closer to South Florida. The evacuation order, which will not involve the forceable removal of anyone, applies to residents of barrier islands, mobile homes and low-lying areas. Broward announced a voluntary evacuation for the beach, mobile home residents and those in low-lying areas.”

PGA National Resort & Spa sits about six miles from the Atlantic Coast in Palm Beach County where winds are expected to reach 145 miles per hour.

“We are preparing for the worst, we are hoping for the best. Get out now, your decision could be the difference between life and death,” Florida Governor Rick Scott said Thursday morning.

The death toll as of Thursday morning has climbed to at least 25.
